Stairs

A staircase leading nowhere can show that you are making an effort but cannot see clear progress. You may be investing a lot of energy in something whose goal has become uncertain. The dream can confront you with the feeling that not every chosen path automatically moves you forward.

Missing steps can show that a path basically exists but important intermediate stages are absent. You may know where you want to go without knowing how to get there safely. The dream can express uncertainty about a transition or the order of your next steps.
